I apologise to lads who have made an effort in communication, my self confidence at this dating thing is not great, and after creating the profile i pretty much just stuck my head in the sand, fearing the what-ifs. That's my loss, and i'm working on it. I've been a bit of a hermit for a long time, am no stranger to doing my own thing. I like the idea of enjoying the company of someone with compatible interests. I do enjoy exploring spiritual, emotional, cerebral, healing and self development stuff, curious & creative stuff, little adventures, activities or chilling & talking about that kinda stuff, etc. I'm also a foodie, that stuff is joyful to me. It would be really nice to share with someone as keen on those kind of things.
I worked as a care assistant in the community for many years, but the sadness, particularly when those whom I'd formed connections with had become more ill frail or passed away, became a lot to bear. There were other frustrations too. I stayed too long & burned out. I am interested in the art of healing and I seem to have a bit of a knack for it, altho I wish I had someone likeminded to figure stuff out with. Workwise, it's little odd-jobs here n there to get me by. I don't want a 9-5 mon-fri at something i don't enjoy. I'd do the odd day here or there but the jobs pages don't offer that. I'm gearing up to have my own business, online, in a few fields to do with pixels vectors design etc, self-teaching. The idea of offering my services is scary, but i'll get there.
I am obese, but wear it kinda well, aiming to slim down.
I once had a dream, of myself and my (unknown) partner cooking a dinner meal together, great music in the background, blues or jazz i think, light-hearted smiles laughter & chatting, singing & humming along, & cozily dancing together the odd time, in between sipping on our drinks, & attending to the meal's progress. It was such a wonderful dream. I hope i live it one day.

I'm kinda put off by dating sites, as are most folks i guess. I've been single so long that I dunno if I've gotten too used to it, and the dating thing is a bit intimidating. At the risk of sounding ugh, I'll just be blunt with some of my thoughts, interests and boundaries regarding stuff down the road. If you're just looking to get laid, or laid often, please move on. I'm just not the type to feel at all interested in that kind of stuff with someone I barely know.
I'm not interested in anyone who's looking for a housekeeper cook cleaner, I'm much more interested in someone willing to share or discuss & divvy what needs doing.
I enjoy a great sense of humour, someone who is open-minded and curious about how things work, willing to see other perspectives, a doer, etc.
I'd like to grow old with my partner, so please be someone who tends to take care of their health.
My ideal partner would be free to go out & do whatever they like with friends, and genuinely choose to remain romantically & sexually faithful to me, and I would be able to trust in their commitment to me. And I would be able to do the same with my friends, and he would be able to trust my commitment to him. We would be able to comfortably spend time apart without fretting about the other's whereabouts, yet we would also reliably let each other know accurate details beforehand, like approx when we'd be home, what we'll be doing.
We'd enjoy spending time together, maybe going out the odd time, exploring experiencing or doing our interests together, helping each other with stuff. We'd respect each other, and not be afraid of freely expressing sharing & showing each other affection & love, and freely honestly communicating calmly & clearly with each other, including our needs, desires and stuff that interests us or ticks us off etc.
